Mount Isa to Karumba via Cloncurry & Lawn Hill -

Mount Isa accommodation was found in the local RSL carpark, we stayed for 2 nights.

Cloncurry - we stayed at Wal's camp.

Lawn Hill - we camped at Adel's Grove

Karumba - the local van park.

Heading for Lawn Hill National Park.

Hint : Move over when a road train is coming on a single lane road.

Then we hit dirt.

.....and the cattle grids.

Oh, and the dust, the caravan & car are coping a hiding.

Deep breath now.

Lawn Hill National Park.

Fresh water crocs reside here but do not hassle the swimmers.!!!!!!!

The challenge : to canoe the three gorges of Lawn Hill.

The team who displays the best team work wins the right
to hand out the lollies (snakes) on the next car trip.
The boys will come undone here.............

Can this team hang tough ???, half way,  and it's all even.

Feeding the Archer fish, these cool fish spit water at their prey, in this case a small piece of dough.

Showing up their parents.

Jackson & Harry won the right to hand out the snakes.

Animal life at Lawn Hill.

Damper on the menu.

 Bamboo shoots burn well.

Riversleigh Site D - dinosaur dig.

 bones from the giant croc.

After a 36 degree day at the Riversleigh dinosaur dig, we needed another swim.

Jackson nails the tarzan swing.

So does Harry.
Dad nails it as well............ in his old man way.

On the road to Karumba via Normanton.

450 kilometres down the track we arrive at the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Jackson, Harry & dad hit the Gulf for a spot of fishing.

The following charter was exceptional value and provided an awesome experience for the Lloyd boys.

We set off into the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Our motley crew - Gilligan 1 and Gilligan 2.

After a slow start the fish begin to bite and we end up with a terrific catch,
mainly blue nosed threadfin salmon.

The catch for the day.
Jackson caught the biggest fish at 78cm, which was donated to the skipper.

Harry and his Mackeral.

Jackson and his haul.
Sustainable fishing . We caught and released most of the catch. We took home 4 fish.

Dad gets to do the fun bit. Filleting..... What fun !!!!!!!!!!!
