Hervey Bay - Fraser Island - Tinanbar.

Useful purchases #1.
Bull bar - After travelling 32,500 kilometres and having no need to rely on the heavy duty bull bar.
It proved to be  a worthwhile purchase, when ,  on our trip to catch the Fraser Island Ferry. 9.00am on a clear day, we were unlucky to hit a large male kangaroo, he stood at 6ft and was quite solid.
The Roo hopped right in front of the car and we collected him at about 75km/h. He had totalled himself and yours truly had the grim task of moving the big fella off the road.
It was a rather sad start to the day.
The car was undamaged due to the bull bar. Everyone was shaken but not stirred.

Rivers Head , catching the barge to Fraser Island.

Bushfire had raged through a few sections of the island, only 3 -4 weeks ago.

The sandy tracks were awesome for 4 wheel driving. I thoroughly enjoyed driving on the island.

One of the many creek crossing along the eastern beach.

RBT and speed checks.!!!!!!!

The tailor season was just about finished. A few keen fishermen remained.

A pod of dolphin were after the bait fish.

Certain sections of the beach are used as a runway. The planes have right of way.

 A most photographed wreck.

Our second night, beachside camping at Winnam.

Jules has a great nights sleep.

The high tide prevented us from leaving our campsite for a few hours.

 This bloke looked quite ill.

This slow moving python was pretty cool.

The barge leaves from Kingfisher Resort.

We hit the Granshaw's holiday house at Tinanbar.
Harry takes Mackenzie's horse for a gallop.

Overlooking Fraser Island.
