Tinnanbar - Mooloolaba - Chuwar - Gold Coast.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Questions from the Stage 3 students at Figtree Public School.

Jack: No fish were caught on Fraser Island , we missed the tailor season by a week. We are looking at going out in a boat , just off the Gold Coast for a spot of fishing.

Chloe : We stayed on Fraser Island for four days and camped in our tent for three nights. We really enjoyed Fraser Island. I particularly liked the 4WD tracks.

James: We saw 3 dingoes during our trek around the island. The dingoes are all tagged and have an identification ear tag. The female has a tag on it's right ear and the male has a tag on it's left ear.

Ethan: The Diamond Python crossed in front of the car, apparently he was very safe and did look both ways before crossing. Harry and his mum nearly stepped on a brown snake coming back from the beach one evening. This one was hard to identify.

A big Thank you to Noel, Deb, Mackenzie and Charlie for the use of their terrific holiday house, we had an enjoyable Melbourne Cup Day, a few relaxing days  and were totally chilled out in the end.
We look forward to catching you on the NSW coast.

Across the Great Sandy Strait to Fraser Island.

The van was packed and ready for the trip to the Sunshine Coast.
We tried a few places from Noosa Heads to Coolum
and finally found a reasonably priced park at Mooloolaba.

Our first day trip from here took us on a tourist Drive up into the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.

We paid a visit to these towns on the way.

We were lucky enough to land a nice day for a sight seeing tour.

Maleny is home to arguably the finest ice cream shop in Australia.
To date we have stopped at, and tasted ice cream from 25 different stores.
This has got the Lloyd vote as the Best so far.
 Collin James Ice cream.

Here are some examples.Taste tests were handed out freely.

.....and flavours.

Scenes from the Tourist Drive.

Kondalilla falls.
The coldest Rock pools we have come across to date.
Refreshing, is an understatement.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day we headed to the Eumundi Markets.
Once again, we would have to say that these were the Best markets we have attended.
This Sunshine Coast has a lot going for it.

A beach day is in order. Mooloolaba Beach.

The old guys have their Carnival Day.

We had dinner with Justin and Bec, whilst in Mooloolaba , it was terrific to catch up with them.
They have only recently moved to the Sunshine Coast.

Whilst at Mooloolaba, we had a game of ten pin bowling.
Sadly to say for the parents, we were out played by Harry
who scored 124 and had 3 strikes with his first three bowls.
This was played without the bumpers and was a terrific afternoon activity.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a quick pack up we headed for Chuwar, a suburb of Ipswich for
a visit to the Pear's family.
My cousin Troy, his wife Selina and two fantastic kids, Travis and Annelise welcomed us for a Sunday lunch and dinner at their lovely home.

We soon found out that they were Crusty Demons in the making.
Terrific Travis and Amazing Annelise showed us their bike skills and we were very impressed.

Ruby loved the attention of her new friends.

Travis kindly allowed Crusty Demon Harry to try his hand at riding.
After some excellent tuition from Troy, Harry opened up the throttle and started to enjoy the ride.

Troy teaches the little guys how to pop a wheelie.

Jackson gives it a good go.
It took some persuading to get them off the bikes.

Another enjoyable week on the road.
We have arrived on the Gold Coast to take on the Theme parks and catch up with a number of fellow travellers. The treasure Island Park is our location at the moment.
