Gold Coast - We set up camp for the week.

The "Lloyds on tour" is into the final 3 weeks, we would like to thank all our friends, family and relatives for their encouragement and kind words each week, as we check their blog comments.

Whilst we are sad that the journey is coming to an end, we are also thrilled to be catching up with everyone back in the Gong.

We hit the 34,000 kilometres mark this week. Ahhhh, the fuel bill!!!!!!!!!!

The average accommodation cost has been $35.56 per night for a family of four.

With Western Australia being the most expensive state for accommodation and food costs.

Some questions and comments from the blog.

Josh Y. from Figtree commented:
They missed their team sports but have had an awesome time trying some other sports on the way.

Thanks for the positive comments Steven and Andrew.

We actually saw our first Sydney sign the other day - 943kilometres to go.

The ETA will be on the 3rd of December,
with Jackson and Harry due to attend school on the following Monday.

The Gold Coast.

A very unique place on the Australian Landscape.

The "Lloyds on tour" purchased a yearly ticket from the NRMA website for $104 per person,
this gave us access to three parks - Sea World, Movie World and Wet and Wild for 12 months.

This has proved to be a good value ticket as we have ducked in and out of the parks for the last 8 days.

The Superman Roller Coaster was my favourite (Richard)

The Stunt show was awesome, we particularly liked the Polizia cars.

Good old Dirty Harry.

Will & Lucy , look who we found!!!!!!!!

Preparing for take off.

This was an exhilarating trip into orbit, no lunch items came up either!!!!!
The seat hurtles upwards extremely quickly and comes back down as fast.

Safe, coming back down.

The Stidston family, we have bumped into these guys at various locations
from Albany, WA to the Gold Coast, Qld.
They dropped over and spent some time hanging out in the pool and for lunch.
It was terrific to catch up with the Stidstons.

Andrew, Wendy, Bethany, Joel, Ben and Annalise.

These dolphins were brilliant. 180 - 200 kg of muscle. They put on a brilliant show.

Karen has really taken to the photography.

This next guy was chasing the jet skis.

The Shark Cove was pretty cool as well.

The Jet Ski Stunt Show was also pretty impressive.

The next trick.

The stay at the Gold Coast has turned into a big get together of families
we have met on the trip or from home.
We bumped into the Bonnici family at Sea World and at Wet and Wild.
It was terrific to meet up with people from back home.

Penguins on the coast. These little fellas are great viewing.

The night markets at Surfers Paradise was pretty relaxing for the boys.
We caught up with the Johnston family again.

Karen tries her best Stephanie Gilmour impersonation.

Buskers and the Surfers Paradise nightlife.

The Johnston family, Jody, Chace, Brodi, Phil(aka Johnno) and Nikki.

Nobby's Beach, not to be confused with Bobby's Beach.

The water was refreshing and we enjoyed the morning dip.
Harry, just hangin' out.

"Go on , get your old body up on the board Dad!!!!!!!!!"

We drove to Brisbane to watch the Brisbane Roar in the A-League,
They are on a 34 game unbeaten run and play tremendous Football.

I was fortunate enough to attend their training session the day before and caught
up with their coaching staff and players.
Thanks to Ken Stead for his time and effort.

The Lloyd boys outside Suncorp Stadium, with  the Wally Lewis statue.
This holds a bit of significance for Richard.
Suncorp was called Lang Park many years ago and the Wally Lewis Statue
was placed on the hill at one end.
During a National Soccer League Game at Lang Park, good old Dad scored
a neat goal in front of Wally Lewis.............. well the statue anyway.

The result ended 1-1 but the Roar were all over the Pheonix.
The 16,500 crowd was on the edge of their seat for the  last 15 minutes.

Harry thinks this player ( Daniel ) looks like Andreus, our WA buddy.

Leaving Brisbane.

Back at the park and a massive pack up is required. We have gathered many souvenirs and extras on the trip. The van is stuffed to the brim. The good old webber has cooked up many tasty meals.

We head into NSW tomorrow, clocks go forward an hour, not sure which town,
we'll see where the highway takes us.
