Kalbarri- a 5 day stay.

Day 137- Lloyds on tour.

The shorter trip to Kalbarri allowed us a full day of adventuring about the town.
Our first job in town is to check out the Information Centre,
find accommodation and check out the local attractions, once we are armed with this information we make plans for our stay.

Discovering the Coral Coast.

Our accommodation for Kalbarri, talked the Park Manager into a sweet deal.

Five nights for the price of Four.

Activity 1- Reef Fishing.

FISHING: Jackson, Harry and Richard ( dad) hit the reef.
Kalbarri is highly rated as one of Western Australia's and Australia’s premier fishing holiday destinations. The fishing grounds of Kalbarri are exciting and diverse with a backdrop to the famous Kalbarri cliffs. Whether you are the experienced, average, or a beginner to angling, your needs will be catered for in this unique Kalbarri destination. Reefwalker Adventure Tours offers a varieties of options for the visiting angler. We reef fish for quality table fish including red emperor, West Australian dhufish, coral trout, pink snapper, spanish mackerel, yellow fin tuna, sharks and have an unsurpassed reputation in this area. You are sure to receive personal attention from our experienced crew with over 26 years experience in local waters. Reefwalker Adventure Tours is proudly locally owned and operated and is available for charter all year round.

Activity 2 - Kalbarri Wilderness Canoe Adventures.

Leaving Geraldton for Kalbarri.

Karen snaps a few sunset shots.

 Murchison River Canoe Expedition.

Safety Briefing - Life jackets and canoe ettiquette

Mick, the tour guide. No flies on Mick, he calls a spade a spade and a shovel a shovel.

Hannah, Jackson and Karen sort their technique out.

Scott, Owen , Corina and Daniel work in unison.

Angus and Harry are the engine room for our canoe. Boy, was I in for a big day!!!!!!

The landscape is quite interesting and their are many indicators of how high the river floods.

Halfway down the river. Are there any crocs in this river????
Not yet says Mick, maybe some Log-o-diles though.

Follow the leader, he took us through low branches and other debris, this was fun for the kids but extremely uncomfortable for the adults, the kids loved this.

Swim time, Are you sure there are no crocs Mick????

Leaving the river.

The Reefwalker Fishing Charter - a 5 am start.
To my surprise Harry and Jackson were awake early and ready to go.

A few waves to break to leave the river.

Harry gets to fish first.

Jackson loves the fishing.

Harry helps Ilse( crew member)  with her handline.

Come on Harry, reel it in buddy.

Damn , it got away.

Coming back to shore.

The catch for our boat.

 Jackson catches his Dhufish.

Harry gets the Bald Chin Groper.

These two fish are the best eating fish in WA.

Exploring the coastline - Kalbarri.

 Where did Jackson go?
