Broome - a twelve day stopover to catch our breath.

Cable Beach has become a favourite daily trip and we have taken full advantage of the terrific winter weather that has been dished up. The tides up here are massive and vary between .5m to 10metres. Cable beach can be full of water in the morning and when you swim in the afternoon, you need to catch a bus to get out to the water (250 metres plus).

 Jules enjoys Cable Beach.
Where is that cocktail ??????

For PE this week, we have decided to complete a unit on surf safety with an emphasis on boogie board riding.

The Camel Sunset Ride was quite impressive.

Willie Creek Pearl Farm proved an interesting visit.
A pearl tour was another interesting activity. Oh to be  a pearl technician, $80,000 for 3 months work and a $50 grand bonus if the pearls turn out to be Quality.

Helicopter joy rides, I think we'll pass on this one.
Willie Creek. Can you see the local croc?

 Our ship for the tour.
 Cleaning boat.
Flat rock.

A 2 hour Astro evening with Greg Quike.

Nil photos, as it was too dark and we didn't want to spoil our night vision, but this adventure proved to be extremely educationally galactic.

The Broome Races was on the cards for Saturday afternoon , the 6 race meeting was a terrific day out for the family.

A greta Saturday afternoon at the Broome Races. We caught up with a number of families who we have been travelling with.

Pizza for dinner at the Mango Place.

An out of town Mango farm who specialises in evening wood fired pizzas.
4 adults and 5 kids smashed down 6 pizzas and 2 garlic breads. A terrific effort.

Town Beach and off to Gantheaume Point ( Southern Point of Cable Beach)

Cable Beach is in the background.

Dinosaur footprints have been found in these parts.
At low tide you can see them.

Town Beach, closed due to crocodile lurking.
 Broome Port in the background.

 Mangroves at high tide.

James Price Point, this is where the new gas works will hit the land, apparently the second largest plant in the world, the protesters are plenty and they have set up camp on the road out to this point. We thought we'd have a look for ourselves.

THe wild camel found by the roadside.

We head off to Cape Leveque on Tuesday for 3 days of tent camping. We have a thatched cover on the beach for our stay. We are really looking forward to this part of the trip.

We need to stop looking at your blog, it's making us sssooo jealous. It looks absolutely beautiful and we hope the boys got an A for PE, for their excellent boogie boarding skills.

Enjoy your next adventure

What gorgeous sunsets they have over in the west! The camel rides looked like lots of fun if not a little uncomfortable. Wish my teacher had given me such interesting spoting activities, sure beats running around the oval two million times!

I meant 'sporting' but if spoting works...

how come richard and jackson had an ugly camel, whilst karen and harry were on a cute camel. Did the guide match them accordingly.Karen and harry also appear to be the fishing champwho caught the most mud crabs?Dad
